I’m going to have to start reviewing hotels.

First – I know. I haven’t written in a while. Deal with it – life has been crazy but good with a move to Denver eminent. I’m actually out in Denver this week. You’ll hear about the flights soon enough.

I’ve given Starwood and SPG a chance many times and I want to like them. I’ve had several amazing stays at W Hotels over the years granted but lately – I don’t know what they were are doing.

I like hip hotels. I booked the Aloft Downtown Denver for this trip. A corner king with floor to ceiling windows and mountain view’s. Since I was late getting in I was told those rooms are first come first serve and even though the rate I was paying didn’t change I was put in a smaller room. My view consisted of construction. It was loud and maybe 200 sq. feet. My apartment in Japan was three times that!

Whatever I’m here for four days and it’s cheap!

Then when I couldn’t sleep because of the literal shockwaves of bass from the club next door I had it. Fired up the laptop and found a travel industry discount on a corner club room at the Grand Hyatt. Price – $100 bucks a night.

We’re changing hotels. It’s actually cheaper.

The Hyatt is amazing as always. Good amenities and rooms are huge with little touches like auto lights and remote shades. I just arrived today but I’ll take more pics and write a review with my flight report.

I do think in the future I’ll focus more on hotels rather than just airlines as a part of travel.
